Renowned Country Music Producer, Tony Brown Launches Iconic Coffee Table Book - Elvis, Strait, to Je

A Journey with Legends of Rock 'N' Roll, Country and Gospel Music.

NASHVILLE, Feb. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- A photographic book providing a rare glimpse into the life of country music's most iconic producer is available to pre-order now, and will hit stores on May 1, 2018.

Elvis, Strait, to Jesus explores the 40-plus year career of hit producer, player, and record executive, Tony Brown, with insights from many of the iconic artists and industry heavyweights whose work he has shaped, and who have in turn influenced the path of Tony's life.

Tony Brown's early foray into fame came when he joined Elvis Presley's TCB Band on keys in the late 1970s. Tony brought to the band a unique instinct and soulful playing style, which evolved out of his humble upbringing as a touring gospel musician.

"Through stylish photography and intimate narrative, Elvis, Strait, to Jesus chronicles the extraordinary life, career, and friendships of one of music's most accomplished producers. Readers go behind the scenes of a golden era in music history, learning the secret magic of how Tony Brown helped catapult the careers of many major country and Americana artists."

Brown is a multi-award winner, whose incredible talent has been recognized with Grammys, ten CMA Awards, and numerous ACM Awards. Under his presidency, MCA records won Billboard's Country Label of the Year Award for ten years in a row. He was also presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Americana Music Association in 2008.

As a producer, Tony has been responsible for more than 100 number 1 hits, so as you would imagine, he has a story or two to tell. And so do his famous collaborators, who include the likes of Reba McEntire, George Strait, Lionel Richie, Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood, Cyndi Lauper, Billy Joel, Joe Cocker, Train, Barbra Streisand, and many more.

Elvis, Strait, to Jesus is not your typical memoir. But then, Tony is not typical in any way. The book shines a light on the history-making processes and relationships behind some of the world's most loved music. Page by page, Tony shares the stage with his collaborators through stunning black and white photographic portraits because, as he points out, "Pictures bring a story to life. I am fortunate that in my life I have worked with a diverse cast of characters and am now able to showcase my body of work through imagery."

Each artist or collaborator has graciously posed in Brown's exquisite French renaissance chair. He explains their history together, and they in turn share insights about him.

As Reba McEntire explains, "Tony Brown is one of the most fun people I've ever gotten to work with in the music business. The music we have gotten to record together speaks for itself."

Peppered among the celebrity portraits are shots of Tony himself, who exudes effortless cool and class with his leather jacket and trademark MATSUDA Eyewear shades.

One of the most intriguing aspects of Elvis, Strait, to Jesus are the personal photographs that help to tell Tony's story; from early photos with Elvis, to rare, behind the scenes studio shots and intimate social photographs. These images capture moments which may not have seemed extraordinary at the time, but in hindsight are pivotal points in musical history.

Based in Nashville, Tony remains part of the lifeblood of the music scene and the city itself. Various Nashville locations are featured as backdrops to this incredible story, like the Watermark Restaurant, where Tony has had many memorable business lunches, and Douglas Corner, where he signed Trisha Yearwood.

Elvis, Strait, to Jesus is published by Center Street, a division of Hachette Book Group, Inc., with design and creative direction by Dead Horse Branding's Rick Caballo.
